Weighted mic stand
Ever have problems with mic stands tipping over? Either the vocalist is real rough with the stand, or you are trying to hold up a heavy load, or you have extended the boom too far. Here is what I have done on occasion.
Weighted mic stand
Stack a weight from a barbell set on top of your round mic stand base, then screw in the upright post. Adding a ten pound weight like this doubles the weight of the base, which lowers the center of gravity. This makes the stand much harder to tip over.
